Ben S. Jacob is a composer, educator, and performing artist. His music has been performed by orchestras, choirs, chamber ensembles, and soloists throughout the United States and Europe, and he is the recipient of numerous awards for his compositions, including awards from BMI and ASCAP.
Ben completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in music composition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000. His studies included a variety of musical traditions from around the world, including travel to Indonesia to study and perform Balinese music and dance. He attended the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he completed his Master of Music degree in composition in 2008 and taught courses in music theory.
Ben has performed extensively as a guitarist, percussionist, and violinist and served as director of the music and multimedia performing arts group BASILICA.
